Working with Ami has helped me regain my deep love for soulful, heart-led, and life-changing music. Through a new appreciation for silence and the use of the body as a conduit for creation, I am in awe of the transformative capabilities of the Native American Flute. Ami has given me back my longing to play from the heart and soul.

I signed up for this class as it had been years since I was given my flute by my late wife. Even though I had the least experience of any in the class, I learned a lot by seeing and listening to Ami Sarasvati about how to handle my flute, how to make notes on the flute, and the way forward for me to enjoy playing. I am so grateful to Ami for sharing her experience and teachings. Con te con gioia e gratitudine (With you with joy and gratitude)

What an inspirational tutor, Ami gave me so much confidence to allow me to take my flute playing to a whole new level … not only that, my classes were enormous fun. So grateful our paths crossed Ami.

I've been exploring playing Native American Style Flute for several years and have settled in on ceremonial style flute playing taught by Ami Sarasvati as my favourite. I learned how long slow notes with long silences in between are very relaxing. This style of playing uses one to three notes in a variety of combinations with long pauses in between, creating a long, slow quality of sound. I've learned simple ways to improvise background sounds that enhance the meditative nature of ceremonies, enhancing reflection, and relaxation of participants in the ceremony. I find playing flute in this way is more meditative and relaxing for me as well.

This 5-week series exceeded my expectations, it was learning how to play NAF Improvisational instead of reading sheet music. Learning how to play a note or a few notes, be silent, play again one or more notes, silence again and so on, is healing and calming. I could go on and on about this experience, but I encourage anyone interested to take the course. I think you'll love it. l playing. Ami is an excellent instructor. The class was well-structured. I enjoyed the group!
